Born to Scottish parents, in Detroit, M.I., U.S.A., in 1960, Steven has lived in Scotland since 1968
Steven is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art,
Dundee , where he studied sculpture and photography.
The photography department at that time was led by the great reportage photographer Joseph MacKenzie. (1929 - 2009)
Steven later studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, where he was awarded the degree of Master of Art & Design.
A lecturer in Art & Design at various colleges over the years, Steven founded the photography department at Dumfries College and also worked for a period of time as Dumfries Town Artist for Dumfries Town Centre Management Company. He has had several one man exhibitions and his art work is represented in both public and private art collections worldwide.
Steven is currently a Director of Scotland’s leading arts charity Project Ability, and is a member of The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
